Seminar on "Diversity Management" in Malaysia

The Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association (HIDA) in cooperation with MEF is organising a Seminar on "Diversity Management" in Malaysia from 28 – 29 October 2014, at MEF HQ, Kuala Lumpur. HIDA is an organization for human resources development in developing countries to promote technical cooperation through training, experts dispatch and other programmes.

The programme on Diversity Management focuses on systems implemented in Japan and Malaysia. This seminar will provide opportunities to learn the principles of Diversity Management and clarify issues on its application and implementation. It also aims at enhancing teamwork and leadership capabilities, and enabling participants to play a major role in solving human and organization-related issues at the workplace.

The specific objectives are:

1) To learn the basic principles of Diversity Management, how to design Diversity policies/wage systems and how to implement them.

2) To learn Japanese style Diversity Management

3) To deepen understanding of the issues and future direction of Diversity Management in Malaysia by comparing Diversity Management in Malaysian companies and Japanese companies

4) To enhance teamwork and leadership capabilities of the participants, enabling them to play a major role in solving human and organization-related issues through group discussions.

You are invited to apply to participate in the above seminar. The seminar is sponsored by HIDA and there is no registration fee. The number of places are limited to 40. The tentative schedule for the Seminar is attached.

The final selection of participants will be made by HIDA and the successful participants would be notified. Participants are encouraged to make presentation on the practice of Diversity Management systems in their respective companies during the course of the Seminar to share and compare experiences at the company level. Certificates of attendance will be issued to participants by HIDA.
