"30 hours of working and still going strooong," Mita Diran wrote on Twitter without knowing that working for 30 hours would kill her and that she was unknowingly tweeting about the cause of her death.
The day after her last tweet, the 24-year-old Indonesian copywriter reportedly collapsed and died. "Mita Diran dies" has been trending on Twitter since then.
Mita's tweet clearly indicates that she worked at her ad agency, Y & R Indonesia, at a stretch for 30 hours.
Her father, Yani Syahrial, said that Mita's health condition deteriorated and that she went into coma after working continuously for three days, according to local media. He said Mita was overworking herself.
"Hi everyone , since last night and until now my daughter who is a copywriter in Y & R lay in a coma in PCH . Chances not very good. She collapsed after continuous working overtime for 3 days last night. Working over limit. I have no(t) slept since then," Syahrial wrote on social networking-enabled photo-sharing and messaging service, Path, Merdeka News reported.
To this message, one of his employees, Shalini, replied announcing the death of Mita. Shalini also stated that Mita died because of both overwork and an overdose of Red Bull.
"An hour after this massage from my Executive Creative Director , her daughter died . She died Because of too much of overtime working and too much Red Bull attacks her heart. May she rest in peace, " Shalini wrote on Path.
The agency remains tight-lipped on the cause of Mita's death. It just left a note of condolence on its Facebook page and observed a day off:
"It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we have to inform you we have lost our friend, sister, and work colleague, Mita Diran, earlier this evening. Mita was a talented copywriter with a gentle smile who will always live on in our hearts."
"We have been to Mita's family residence tonight and expressed our sincere condolences on behalf of Y&R Group Indonesia. It is a great loss and we wish Mita's family the faith and strength in each other in going through this extremely difficult time."
