PETALING JAYA: Falsified letters of support and fraudulent supporting documents were detected by staff of MYXpats Centre when processing eight employment pass (EP) applications since July this year.
The applicants were from the construction, manufacturing and mining industries.
Immigration Department director-general Datuk Seri Mustafa Ibrahim said they viewed this falsification and fraudulence as serious as it involved the national security.
He warned that stern action will be initiated against companies and representatives who submit falsified letters of support and fraudulent supporting documents.
"We will not hesitate to blacklist those involved in this cheating," he added.
MYXpats Centre, has lodged police reports and investigations are underway under Section 468 of the Penal Code for forgery for the purposes of cheating.
MYXpats centre is a one-stop centre that processes and issues EP applications and other EP-related passes for expatriates working in Malaysia.
It is jointly managed by the Immigration Department and Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp), and overseen by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
On another issue, Mustafa said, 57,608 illegal workers and 752 employers have been arrested between Jan 1 and Dec 13 this year.
He added more than 139,000 illegal workers that own valid travel documents were deported to their country of origin under the 3 plus 1 programme where they go back without being placed in the Immigration depots.
Mustafa also told reporters that they would work closely with the police in the fight against terrorism and militancy as the threats are not over yet.
"Our efforts in this area will continue as we are always on top of the situation involving Islamic State (IS) threat," he added.
