More than 3,000 vacancies have been offered by 30 employers during the Social Security Organisation (Socso) online job carnival.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor in urging the people of Sabah to seize the opportunity, also told them to look at Socso's other initiatives in MyFutureJobs.
Hajiji who launched the virtual Sabah's Socso E-Career Carnival 2021 today said the programme, a continuity of the National People's Well-Being and Economic Recovery Package (Pemulih) aimed to stimulate jobs and employment opportunities.
"Statistics from Sabah Socso showed 7,141 people have returned to work in 2020, while from January to August this year, 4,366 people got jobs.
"The initiatives introduced by the government through Socso have given a positive impact to reduce unemployment among the people including in Sabah," said Hajiji who is also the state Finance Minister.
Socso has also implemented the hiring incentives programme as until September this year, Sabah has more than RM22 million incentives based on interest payments to over 8,000 eligible workers, he said.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic struck, Sabah Socso has covered 280,744 workers and 33,893 employers as of April this year, he said.
Through the government's economic stimulus packages, he said Socso has channelled RM1.005 billion to the people of Sabah.
The amount was as help and financial incentives for the continuity of business operations, keeping employees, and hiring new workers.
